Define PCI?

Can i ask you my fellow bloggers what PCI meant to you? Practical Completion Inspection or Presentation where the Builder will present your Home at its best, cleaned, finished, well presented...

Did i just say well presented?

How come when we went onsite... Found mud inside the house! dust like a snow, missing PC items and more touch ups! Do you call it Presentation or the bulder just want us to check all the inc works coz they couldnt be bothered checking it themselves?

This was the meant to be our Second inspection.... perhaps our handover on wednesday will be a third inspection? who knows...

Where does this end?

Perhaps checking someonelse building progress is more exciting than our own one.. nothing but frustration.

Only time will tell.

PCI Result - NOT MET!

As much as i wanted to update my blog, would love to post all the finish product but due to poor Supervision, improper workmanship, and non complaince with relevant standards, It has been marked as "House is incomplete"! or should i say failed.

Got an independent inspection and wouldnt even thought the the report will be about 25 pages. Didnt even want to open it in the first place.. anyways, to make the story short... Got about 60 defects/incomplete works including major isues like a water leak to the living room coming from the balcony, window glass cracked and more.. =(

Escalated this matter to the Manager.. and the next day.. three vans are working on site.. PCI has been moved next week. Not even sure if they will finish everything. finger's crossed. i wouldnt want to pick up any more to delay the handover. Hope everyone else building experience wouldnt be as bad as we had. Please stay tune...

Its been a Roller Coaster ride but we're nearly there!

Whoa... It has been pretty busy one for the past few months since my last update in October. I would never have imagined that building a new home was the worst and best experience you'll ever have. Mixed Emotions to everything. Well.. after waiting and waiting..... We are closer to grab the keys and enjoy our first new home!

A couple of frustrations along the way.. First, Di-lorenzo... i wouldnt forget you as you stuffed up all our floor areas! you meant to install the tiles we've chosen and they've decided to put a different tiles! (Someone accidentally swapped our paperwork with somebody else). Everything was stopped because of the tiles.. Painting, plumbing, electrical.. the lot. Ive read some blogs as well about Di-lorenzo mixing paperworks. Hmmm.. why why this is happening.

- No Apology from the Company. The solution from Di-Lorenzo was...( We can easily remove everything in two days. My wife has decided to keep the tiles though and we just need to change the wall tiles completely to compliment with the floor tiles. I will then discuss this matter with Metricon.

So much things happening but i wouldnt want to get stressed out.. it supposed to be an exiciting journey.... well.. its time to put some photos up...

Awaiting for Blacktown Council Approval?

Council Application was submitted on the 5th May hoping that this shouldnt take that long. Council requested to pay the Bond on 18th of May. I then called my wife to pay it immediately to avoid any delays. Guess What? Its been Almost 7 weeks and still no confirmation from our Builder. I called the builder on 05/06 and was advised that theres no issues at all and just waiting for the Construction certificate. I then followed it up with the officer after a week and found out that there are some issues. Officer advised that the tree at the front should be moved. Another Delays!!!!. We cannnot do anything unless council advised the builder what to do. I guess i might have to wait for another a month. Still waiting....

The Ponds Board has approved our Plan

Had some variations done on the building structure as The Ponds Board rejected our propose plan. It took them three weeks to approved it.

Finally... After two years of waiting!!!

Finally. We have decided to build with Metricon after two years of waiting.

Thought i would share this photo. I cant wait till Our Dream Home is done.

Searching for the Land???

Our journey begins back in 2008. We owned a Duplex at Rooty Hill after moving from Koragah back in 2005. Just right before the Global recession starts, we wanted to upgrade our Home from Duplex to a decent 2 Storey Home.

At first, we never thought of building our Dream Home until we drove past this big piece of land called The Ponds. We were then so interested. There was only about 5 to 10 Houses built that time. Then we thought this must be a good place to live in. Now, Houses that are being build are like mushrooms.

This photo was taken back in early 2008. We then decided to buy a land in July 2008.
